    Perfect Competition
This article talks about the differences between monopolies and perfectly competitive firms. It discusses how in a perfectly competitive industry, every firm will reach equilibrium and reach towards making a profit of....zero. With a monopoly though, the firm will reach much higher profits. Every company should strive to create a differentiated product and avoid the usual capitalism of selling something that someone else has made.

Cuba is confident that any increase in production of their cigars because of lifting the restrictions on the Cuban cigar being sold to the U.S. will never decrease their quality as they try to raise quantity to meet the expected demand explosion that will allow them to control 70% of the cigar market.

    Date: March 1st,2015
    Market structure discussed: Monopolistic
Synopsis: The article goes into a bunch of technical camera terms that I cannot be bothered enough to read about. The point is, this is monopolistic and there is a reason for that conclusion, I'm not just talking out of my ass here. What market is Nikon in? The camera market of course and it is just like the pencil market. Of course i would rather pay the premium price for a top of the line, cedar wood palamino blackwing 602 rather than buy a shitty ticandoraga from target. Same with cameras, Nikon tries to win out their monooilsific market through quality cameras.

Aramco was believed to be making profits of more than $180 billion a year, far outstripping the $33 billion of Exxon Mobil, the largest listed oil firm. With official blessing, the company has been spending heavily on getting into all sorts of businesses far removed from drilling for crude. Besides huge investments in petrochemicals—an obvious diversification for an oil producer—it has gone big on solar energy; and it is planning to build a shipyard, with a South Korean company.
