Super Bowl 2017 TV Ad Analysis

Many corporations spend their entire advertising budget on Super Bowl commercials.
Follow this link, Super Bowl TV Ads to the commercials from the 2017 Super Bowl. Pick one that hasn't been selected already and complete the following questions on the commercial.

1. Form- What kind of piece is it? What does it look like? Was it visually appealing?
2. Audience. To whom is the author addressing the piece? Was the message appropriate for the target  audience.

  1. It's an Commercial for Mr. Clean cleaning products. It feature a sexy, dancing version of the familiar animated character. It was visually appealing with the use of bright colors. The audience was mainly targeted to women since they tend to be the ones doing household works. It shows a woman instantly attracted to the animated Mr Clean character, who shows off his sexy dance moves as he does the housework, while wearing a tight white t-shirt and matching pants that emphasize his features. The brand was Mr. Clean. The purpose of this advertisement was to promote Mr. Clean products in buying them and to appeal to its targeted market of women. Since these women would love to have a sexy man who does housework. This add did not make me buy this product since it's not relevant to me. I would probably not buy this product since I don't usually do household works. I did like this ad and would remember it because of dancing animated character.

    Airbnb Commercial
    1. The Airbnb commercial is a piece about diversity. It displays lots of different faces of people who are of all kinds of different races and ethnicities. I thought it was visually appealing because of all the different eye and skin colors.
    2. The author is addressing the entirety of the US because of all the commotion that has been regarding our new president and administration. I thought it was appropriate for the audience too.
    3. The piece is mainly about diversity and how Airbnb will always have a place for all people to stay in.
    4. Airbnb is trying to tell the whole country that no matter skin color and the current state of the government right now that everyone will be welcome to use their booking services.
    5. The add didn't necessarily make me want to go out and book something but it did send a very effective message and make me want to use their services if I were to vacation soon.
    6. I did like this add and will remember it in the future because I liked the message it sent a lot.

  3. The "Punishment" commercial of T-Mobile was a satirical piece, mocking the sultry phone sex industry and gives a 50 Shades of Grey vibe too. The awkward pseudo-erotic scenes with Kristen Schaal involved lots of romantic imagery to heighten the parody, and the customer service guy's plain shirt and office make him seem even more clueless in it all. The intended audience is anyone who can afford a phone plan, and it takes a dig at Verizon Wireless. A female calls Verizon to be notified of her taxes and fees, because she's weird and enjoys the pain of it. T Mobile was trying to associate Verizon with ridicule and excessive fees to put them down, while making themselves look like the funny guys of the cell phone industry. The unorthodox dirty joke aspect of the commercial certainly grabbed my attention, and I enjoyed the awkwardness of it all. I'm going to remember it for its unique way of mudslinging competition, and I already have T- Mobile, so it's not like it persuaded me one way or another anyways.

    Stranger Things

    This commercial was a trailer for the second season of the popular Netflix Original, Stranger Things. This trailer grabbed audiences attention by started with a clip from an old Eggo Waffles advertisment. This commercial was very dark and morbid, as that is the essence of this show.The main audience is the people that have already watched the first season of Stranger Things. Since this ad is not on Netflix, and was broadcasted to all of America during the superbowl, this ad also tried to reach out to the audience of sci-fi/scarry movies/shows that may not have a nEtflix account, and try to persuade them to creat an account to watch Stranger Things. Through the quick scenes of what to expect in the next season, the audience becomes excited and anticipates finding out what will happen with the Upsidedown, and if Eleven will come back. The ad also revealed the release date of season 2 with one word - "Halloween" - which may be the most appropriate release date for any show. This ad had a great effect on the Stranger Things fans, as evident when it was mentioned in at least three of my classes the Monday following the Super Bowl. I will most definetly remeber this commercial as I await Halloween and the release of the second season of this unique show.

    Bud light Ghost Spuds
    1. The bud light commercial showed a guy who turned down going to his hangout with his friends. it was a regular guy who was visited by the ghost of Spud. It was visually appealing.
    2. The author is trying to address that people need to have fun with their friends when they can, and if you bring bud light everyone will be happy. the target audience is a man older than 21.
    3. The piece is mainly about having fun with friends and the company is Bud light.
    4. The object of this piece is to get the audience to go have fun with their friends and drink bud light.
    5. I am not of age to purchase this product.
    6. I did like the advertisement. I will probably remember it for a long time.

    Budweiser "born the hard way"
    1) the piece was visually pleasing the piece was political and old fashioned
    2) the author is addressing all of those who are involved in the bans trump has made. The message was appropriate because it showed the negative affect of the ban
    3) beer is the brand and the piece is about immigration ban
    4) the author is trying to say that if we continue to isolate America by bans then we will not have any new creations - such as beer, the thing texas is created on
    5) I'm not 21 so I can't drink but because of the boycott over it, I would definitely show my political persecution by purchasing it
    6) I did like the ad and I will remember this ad in the future, not just because of Chris Pratt- but also because of the message

    Skittles Romance Commercial
    This commercial was an advertisement for the candy skittles. A boy is trying to get this girl's attention by throwing skittles at her Window and calling her name "Katie" to come out. It was Visually appealing because the skittles were bright in contrast to the nighttime when the boy was throwing the candy. The author was definitely addressing a broad audience. Appealing to a girl,her mom,dad,grandma,robber,police office,and even a beaver. The main topic was about a boy trying to get this girls attention by throwing skittles at her window and instead of answering him she just lets the skittles come in and eats them by catching them with her mouth and also shares the skittles with her family and everyone basically, the brand is Skittles. The objective was to emphasis that Skittles is more important/better than a relationship with the boy. Yes the ad made me want to go get skittles because they sounded so yummy and appealing. the ad was very comical and I will probably remember it if I get skittles in the future.

    1. Form: Christopher Walken impresses Justin Timberlake with his reading of the NSYNC song “Bye Bye Bye” or in this case “Bai Bai Bai.”
    2. Audience: The audience was for anyone who knew NSYNC or knew of Justin Timberlake or Christopher Walken.
    3. Topic or subject: The peice is about an energy drink, its centered around the pun of bye and bai
    4. Purpose: The purpose is to make people laugh, or entertained.
    5. Effectiveness: It made everyone where I was at discuss the product.
    6. Long term Effect: I was my personal favorite of the 2017 ads, I will remember this product and most likely try it in the future.

    Budlight- Between Friends
    1. Form: The Budlight commercial is an emotional piece that portrays a wide range of emotions throughout one's friendship over time. The montage of clips hits one emotion right after another. It was visually appealing with different depths of field and both brighter and darker scenes.
    2. Audience: The video addresses the viewers of the Super Bowl, but a more mature male audience is being targeted in the commercial. The message about strengthening friendship is appropriate for the target audience. For example, during the Super Bowl, men get together for a Super Bowl party to watch the game. The available option of a drink, Budlight hopes, is their beer.
    3. Topic or subject: The piece is mainly about what makes a strong friendship. A friendship strengthens through arguments, defeats, and triumphs. The brand of Budlight is building friendships.
    4. Purpose: Pathos, emotional appeal, connects the audience to the commercial through sympathizing with the man giving a wedding speech about friendship. By getting the audience to relate to going through the ups and downs of friendship, the audience associates Budlight with friendship. The hope is to make Budlight the go-to brand for beer when hanging out with friends.
    5. Effectiveness: No, this ad does not make me want to purchase the product. I would rather not drink, and I cannot legally buy beer.
    6. Long term Effect: Yes, I like the ad and believe that I will remember this ad in the future. Although I am often forgetful, I tend to remember moments that I have an emotional attachment to. I can relate to this commercial because it reminds me of my appreciation for true friends and the moments we have shared together.

    Old Spice commercial
    1. It is set up as a flashback or dream sequence which fades from a man sitting at a desk to exploring a jungle. Discovering new areas and coming into contact with gorillas, he ends up communicating with them (thanks to Old Spice) and it then reveals it was a presentation by a college professor who witnessed this all for himself.
    2. The author addresses the audience of men ages varying from young to middle-aged (any man who needs deodorant). The messsage seems appropriate despite how over-the-top Old Spice commercials usually tend to be, it has the decent amount of abrusdity.
    3.The piece is mainly about Old Spice antiperspirant.
    4.The purpose of the ad is to display the degree of manliness that comes with using Old Spice. The objective of the piece was to show what can be accomplished if you use the product and to "rather be smacked in the face by success than tickled weirdly by failure".
    5. I already own a few Old Spice products, but I'm sure this ad would convince to give it a try if I hadn't already done so. I wouldn't base my decision to buy it solely on the commercial but it would have a small effect on it.
    6. I liked the ad, I find it as memorable as most other Old Spice commercials I've seen. It may not be as in-your-face or downright ridiculous but I would certainly remember it in the future.

    Mercedes-Benz Commercial- Easy Driver
    1. Form- The commercial is a bunch of old bikers in a bar, who get mad when their bikes outside are "blocked in" by a car that they see is a AMG GT Roadster driven by Peter Fonda.
    2. Audience- the advertisement is geared to fans of 60's movies, and is inspired by Easy Rider, which Fonda is in.
    3. Topic or subject- The advertisement is for the Mercedes Roadster
    4. Purpose- The directors are trying to show that the Roadster is still a cool and good-looking car for young and old people.
    5. Effectiveness- the ad distracted from the car itself, but you can see that it's a nice luxury car that drives well.
    6. Long term Effect- I feel like this ad doesn't fit with the luxury you expect from a Mercedes-Benz, and the target of the advertisement doesn't fit with the target buyer of the car.

    The Self-Aware Sprite Commercial


    1. Form- The Self-Aware Sprite Commercial shows Lebron James holding a glass Sprite bottle as he says that he won't tell the audience to drink Sprite even though there are a bunch of people holding a sign that says "Drink Sprite." It was kind of visually appealing. It didn't have anything special except for Lebron James.
    2. Audience- The author is addressing the piece to basically anyone who likes to drink soda. The message was appropriate for the target audience.
    3. Topic or subject- The topic is about buying Sprite. It is by the brand Sprite.
    4. Purpose- The author's goal in this commercial is to influence people of all ages to buy and drink Sprite. It shows how people should buy sprite even without anybody telling them to.
    5. Effectiveness- The commercial was not that appealing to me because it didn't give a feeling that Sprite would actually taste great.
    6. Long term Effect- I think the commercial was okay. I will probably remember it in the future just because Lebron James was features within the commercial.

    Nintendo Switch Commercial

    1. Form- Nintendo showcases their new game system by showing people of different age groups playing on a tablet-sized handheld device then switching to their TV instantly. The ad was very appealing due to the nostalgia of throwback Nintendo games that I used to play during my childhood.
    2. Audience- The ad is addressing people of all ages, especially families and gamers. It shows the Nintendo Switch is for everyone.
    3. Topic or Subject- Nintendo is introducing a new gaming system.
    4. Purpose- The objective of the ad is to attract people to buy the new gaming system because it is fun for everyone.
    5. Effectiveness- The ad makes me want to purchase the product because it looks like a lot of fun and brings back many childhood memories.
    6. Long term Effect- I liked the ad and I will remember this ad in the future because I might possibly buy one myself.

    Beats: BE HEARD
    1. This ad is a motivational piece. The message was very appropriate to the target audience because sports heavily influenced the message to be motivated about what you do. What better way to be motivated than with music. It was visually appealing because the use of famous athletes and athletic plays are inserted.
    2. The author is addressing anyone who is involved in sports, exercise, and perhaps the everyday person who loves music. The message was very appropriate because it is a motivational excerpt for Beats customers who may use music to pregame like their favorite athletes.
    3. the piece is mainly about how music (using Beats headphones) gives a motivational push towards success.The brand is BEATS by Dr. Dre.
    4. The author wants customers to see how BEATS is a positive product that is beneficial to the customer. The objective of the piece is to get people interested into investing into a pair of BEATS headphones with the help if celebrities so demand for the product will increase.
    5. The ad made me want to purchase BEATS headphones.
    6. I liked the ad because some of my favorite athletes were featured such as Serena Williams. I could care less for Tom Brady, however I liked the ad. #GoFalcons #RiseUp Of course I will rember this ad in the future.

    Audi S5- Daughter
    1. Form- The Audi commercial is a commercial that supports equal pay for women and is advertising the fact that Audi makes sure that they pay women the same as men.
    2. Audience- the audience of the commercial was women and equal rights activist. The commercial was able to appeal to them by saying that Audi is against the gender pay gap and that they do not have one. This is a very appropriate commercial, especially in the current political state, where many are worried about equal rights for women.
    3. Topic or subject- The commercial was mostly about Audi being against the gender pay gap.
    4. Purpose- the author is trying to accomplish showing that Audi is a comp[any that cares about the equality of everybody by making it known that they do not have a gender Pay gap.
    5. Effectiveness- The commercial was effective and it did make me want to purchase the product to support a company that is against the gender pay gap
    6. Long term Effect- I did like the ad and I will remember it in the future as it had a very timely, important and politicaly relevant message

    Advertisement: The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind

    1. Form- What kind of piece is it? What does it look like? Was it visually appealing?

    The piece is a cinematic trailer for an online game. It looks like a fairly typical game trailer with all of the action and combat, but it was visually appealing because of the high quality graphics.

    2. Audience - To whom is the author addressing the piece? Was the message appropriate for the target audience.

    The author is addressing the piece to any gamer who is watching the Super Bowl. However, I'm not so sure that this would've been the best audience for this type of game because gamers are only a small proportion of the people watching the Super Bowl.

    3. Topic or subject - What is the piece mainly about? What is the brand?

    The piece is about an online game, the Elder Scrolls, which so also happens to be the brand. There are a lot of Elder Scrolls games (Skyrim being one of the most popular).

    4. Purpose - What is the author trying to accomplish with the piece? What is the objective of the piece?

    The purpose/objective of this advertisement is to get all of the gamers watching the Super Bowl to go check out the new Elder Scrolls online. The author is aiming to achieve a bunch of sales for the Elder Scrolls (obviously).

    5. Effectiveness - Did the add make you want to purchase the product?

    I've never been a fan of the Elder Scrolls because I play so many games that I don't have enough time for it, so no, but I imagine it would make a lot of people want to.

    6. Long term Effect - Did you like the ad? Will you remember this add in the future?

    I liked the ad as a whole because it was a departure from all of the other ads about stuff like cars and beer, but I probably won't remember it because it's so similar to other action trailers I have seen.

    Advertisement: 84 Lumber
    Form- this commercial focuses on the journey of a mother and daughter from Mexico to America. It highlights the harshness of the journey migrants take to the United States. Many of the different scenes had intriguing aspects.
    Audience- the author was addressing the citizens of the United States. Because of the recent event concerning the travel ban and preparation to build the border wall, the author wanted to give those who live in the U.S. a chance to see what happens outside of the country.I believe that this audience was the best because of the immense amount of viewers the Super Bowl gets.
    Topic/Subject: The topic of this commercial was immigration reform/illegal immigration. The brand is 84 Lumber, which is a construction supply company
    Purpose: The purpose of this ad was to highlight the journey aspect of immigrants to people who have never immigrated. The author was trying to start conversation about immigration in hopes of finding a simpler pathway to citizenship for these immigrants.
    Effectiveness: Although I am not planning on building anything anytime soon, but if I were to I would buy from 84 Lumber because they support immigration reform.
    Long Term Effect: I loved the ad. It made me very emotional because I know that certain people feel the need to demonize immigrants who are trying to build a better life for themselves and their families. I will remember this ad.

    Advertisement: Honda Yearbook
    1. Form- This advertisement was more of a motivational ad than a car commercial for Honda's CRV. The advertisement showed yearbook pictures and high school dreams of celebrities before they were household names, and the spirit that drove them to chase those dreams.
    2. Audience- The ad was addressing young adults and appealing to a sense of connection to their star celebrities in saying even the greatest of our entertainment industry had to have started from somewhere with the dream of where they wanted to be today.
    3. Topic/Subject- The topic was mainly about pursuing your dreams with passion and to start small cause everyone had to have started somewhere. The brand was for Honda.
    4. Purpose-The purpose of this ad was to create a warm feeling towards Honda as a company and to create the message that people should follow their dreams even if there are a few bumps in the road.
    5. Effectiveness- While I do not plan to buy another car anytime soon, I should say that my family has two Honda brand cars and this ad has only solidified our content and support of Honda as a company.
    6. Long Term Effect- Yes, I loved this ad as it seems like a warm welcome break to all the political ads that have circulated during this time in our country. I believe that this was a great way for Honda to step forward and bring a positive message to light in a clever and creative way. I will certainly remember this ad in the future.

    1. Form: This advertisement was more of a silly, fun commercial for the phone company promoted by Justin Bieber dancing and acting silly. It was very informal and very visually appealing.
    2. Audience: It was towards female population towards younger teens so they tell their parents about how T-mobile is a great phone company. The message was appropriate for the audience.
    3. Topic/Subject: The topic was mainly trying to promote T-mobile as a great phone company.
    4. Purpose: The purpose and objective is to promote the T-mobile's lines, coverage, and pricings to help ensure they get many people to switch to T-mobile.
    5. Effectiveness: Yes, it made me want to switch to T-mobile because of the celebrity endorsement.
    6. Long Term Effect: Yes, I liked the ad and will remember it in the future.

    1. Form: This advertisement was an inspirational commercial about a website that a person, such as John Malkovich, can use to start something new in their life. It was a very basic cinematic, but the simplicity was very visually pleasing.
    2. Audience: The audience that this commercial was going for were those who want their ideas to be publicized and start their own business.
    3. Topic/Subject: The topic of the advertisement was creating something new for the world or even making something for yourself be happy.
    4. Purpose: The purpose was to show that anyone can make something of themselves, and even if you are someone that everyone knows you can make something different of yourself by making a website with this product.
    5. Effectiveness: Yes, it makes me want to pursue something when i am able to.
    6. Long Term Effect: Yes, John Malkovich is a very memorable actor and whatever he does that i have seen will be permanently engraved in my head.

    1) a commercial for KFC's new honey mustard chicken. In the commercial there was a gold colonel sanders in a gold room holding the chicken and talking about it and a none gold colonel sanders trying to get the chicken from the gold colonel sanders.
    2)the audience was people who like KFC,gold, and honey mustard. So the message was appropriate for the audience.
    3)the piece was mainly about the honey mustard chicken. And the brand was KFC.
    4)the author is trying to get people to buy the chicken.
    5) I wouldn't buy the product
    6)although I will remember the commercial

    1) This was a movie advertisement. It played parts of the actual trailer and had a lot of cars and action. It was very appealing because it was another movie in the series.
    2)The audience is Fast and Furious fans and anyone who is into action movies. The message was appropriate because it showed the next part of the series.
    3)This was about the next part of the movie and how it will affect the overall plot. The brand is Fast and Furious, the series.
    4) The purpose of the author is to get more viewers and to get the fans what they want, another movie. The piece hooks the viewer, making them want to watch the movie.
    5) The ad made me want to watch the movie because it shows a huge plot twist.
    6) I like the ad. I will remember it till i see the movie.

    TIDE – With Terry Bradshaw
    1) This is a commercial that showed a former NFL player and current commentator get a stain on his shirt. He desperately attempts to find a clean white shirt, but ends up on the highway and eventually in an actor's home. Where he uses Tide to clean his shirt.
    2) This advertisement was meant for people who do laundry, but was able to connect with everyone.
    3) The topic was Tide, a laundry detergent that was used to clean a white shirt.
    4) The purpose was to use comedy to attract attention to an ad, that featured the product being used at the end.
    5) The ad didn't really go too much in to product, so I wasn't really motivated to go and buy laundry detergent from Tide.
    6) The advertisement was definitely one of the funnier ads and I might remember it for featuring several other stars.

    Budweiser commercial (w/ puppy)
    This commercial demonstrates the eternal friendship between a puppy and his horse best friend, and when the puppy gets lost and finds his way back home and in danger with a big, scary wolf, his horse best friend comes to scare the wolf off and bring his best friend back home. It is very visually appealing.
    2) The target audience is people 21 and over (because it would be illegal otherwise), and it is very appropriate for this specific audience.
    3) The brand was Budweiser and it's about beer.
    4) The objective of the piece is to convince people to buy their beer, insisting that it is an important part of building a friendship that lasts forever.
    5)Heck yes it makes me want to buy it (I would not though because that would be illegal and irresponsible...)
    6) I more than liked the commercial, I loved the commercial, and I will remember it as long as I live.

    Tostitos Safe Bag

    The main idea of the commercial was to introduce their new bag of chips, where if you blow on the bag it will detect if you have alcohol in your breath. If you are detected with alcahol it gives you a uber code. Was visually appealing, yes becasue it gives that dreadful vibe of how drinking and driving is dangerous. The targeted audience was those who are able to drink. Yes it was appropriate because during the game and all people usually drink. This gives them an initiative to get an uber rather than driving drunk. The Brand is Tostitos. The brand is basically sadying dont drink and drive. The author is trying to tell its audience that we will help you not to drink and drive by giving you an uber code if you buy our product. They are trying to portray themselves as against drinking and driving. Ya I will buy the ad, it looked so cool, but technically I don't need it right now but in the future, I will.

    1) Form: This advertisement was about coca-cola promoting the drink by using it as a thing that brings people together and accompanying them while eating. It was visually appealing and had a sweet family setting.
    2) Audience: The ad was trying to address people of all ages especially young adults and families. It was appropriate for the audience because of the family-friendly nature of the ad.
    3) Topic or subject: The brand was coca cola and it was promoting coke.
    4) Purpose: The purpose of this ad is to make more people buy coke and influence a larger group of people.
    5) Effectiveness: The ad made me want to purchase the product because of the overall message it was putting forth.
    6) Long term effect: I am most likely not going to remember the ad because it didn't influence me that much.

    "Oh My" Pizza Hut Ad

    1. Form: This piece was a comedic take on George Takei's famous line "Oh my" and it utilized the constant repetition of the famous line to highlight the humor that accompanies the notable expression the actor is known for. It was visually appealing as it made use of the product (pizzas) to entice the viewers.

    2. Audience: It was appealing to the vast majority of pizza lovers as it showed someone famous like George Takei enjoying the product, just like everyone else.
    3. Topic or subject: The commercial is about pizza from Pizza Hut. It is depicting how delicious the pizza is as the man is throughly delighted by the taste.
    4. Purpose: The purpose is to remind the viewers how tasty the pizza is and to make the viewers get up and order a pizza from Pizza Hut.
    5. Effectiveness: It was very affective because it made me crave to get a slice of pizza after I saw how good it looked on the ad. I also wanted to purchase their product after the ad because I liked George Takei, and it made me favor their brand more because he is an admirable actor.

    2. Audience: It was appealing to the vast majority of pizza lovers as it showed someone famous like George Takei enjoying the product, just like everyone else.
    3. Topic or subject: The commercial is about pizza from Pizza Hut. It is depicting how delicious the pizza is as the man is throughly delighted by the taste.

    1) Form: It was a fully textual piece, it had no images just google searches. It was not too visually appealing, but the simplicity and relatability made it refreshing.

    2) Audience: The entire internet population was the audience, anyone who used google search could relate. The message was nonchalant I'm addressing the audience, it was really just to give us something to relate to.

    3)Topic or Subject: The topic was about a college student who fell in love with a woman in Paris. It was really focusing on the love aspect, but the advertisement used his google searches to show his deepening love and commitment to his lover.

    4) Purpose: The purpose was to show the power of google searches and exactly how it can help improve your life. It shows how fast google can search and how effective and accurate the searches were.

    5)Effectiveness: The advertisement was extremely effective in achieving it's purpose because it was so relatable and touching. The google search aspect is common for all internet users and we as humans enjoy being loved, so the emotional aspect was pretty good.

    6)Long Term Effect: Personally there won't be much of a long term effect for me other than the fact that I'll be thinking of my unrequited loves for the next 20 mins. It might win some of the older internet users over, like the ones that use Bing and Yahoo search. The subject of love will pull at their heartstrings and enslave them to google's ploys; AHEM, I mean google is effectively using pathos to attract other customers. I think the message was appropriate for the audience since it shows what can be done and therefore it is appropriate for the audience.

    3. Topic or subject. The piece is mainly about Google's voice-activated speaker which can be used by anyone to make there life a little easier and can also get some work done. It's from Google.

    1) This was a 45-second TV commercial about Humpty Dumpty in the hospital after he has fallen off of the wall. The commercial is an allusion to the common nursery rhyme "Humpty Dumpty" and tries to appeal to the humorous side of people by including The King's Men and their horses.
    2) The commercial is targeted towards younger adults who grew up with the nursery rhyme. It appeals to the desire of young people of wanting money back. The message was very appropriate because it was light hearted and showed the brighter side of taxes, which most people, especially young people dealing with student debt, can appreciate and relate to.
    3) The topic of the commercial was tax deductions and how a person can get money back from their taxes.
    4) The purpose of the commercial was to prove that taxes don't have to be dreadful, but they can be fun to do and you will be able to earn money back. The whole commercial is emphasizing on the fact that you will be able to get your money back if you qualify for their standards.
    5) If I was old enough, I would want to look more into this product because of the fact that they are trying to relate to young people. The hunor in the commercial is very appealing and the light-heartedness is what makes the commercial stick on your mind.
    6) I did like the ad and I will remember it in the future because it is alluding to a story that I already know. The commercial doesn't make reference to anything that I wouldn't understand, and even a small child watching the commercial would be able to follow along because they understand the rhyme.

    1. Form- This commercial is a comedic piece featuring a very famous basketball player - LeBron James. LeBron says he's not going to tell you to drink sprite because he's in a sprite commercial. Then at the he he simply says he'll just ask you if you want a sprite. By doing this it is basically automatic that you will want a sprite because it's sprite. Given the name and the soda it's self you will automatically want it. It was visually appalling because of the large mansion and the famous basketball player. It looks very comfortable, and it give almost a fake behind the seen look at how the commercial is being made. Giving the sense that he is going to be 100% honest.
    2. The author is addressing everyone. It may have been trying to especially target baseball fans with having an amazingly talented basketball player. Yes it was appropriate because it gives the sense of real ness that basketball fan - or anyone for that matter - would enjoy hearing from a celeb.
    3. The brand is Sprite. The piece is about drinking sprite, and even drinking spring when you extremely thirsty. LeBron continuously says that he is not going to tell you to drink a Sprite, which she would expect since he is on a Sprite commercial. This commercial is about how celebrities ask you to do something in the audience is expected to do it but in this case he simply going to ask you if you want to Sprite because the brand sprite has built up such a high standard that you'll want a Sprite without having to be forced to like it.
    4. The author is trying to get people to buy sprite. If LeBron James is on a Sprite commercial, then maybe more of his fans will buy Sprite. Along with the attitude in the commercial that you're going to want a sprite even if there is a huge celebrity promoting it.
    5. Yes this commercial made me want to Sprite not only because of the fact that LeBron James was any commercial, but because it was funny and away and showed a different type of commercial that I have not seen before.
    6. I really like the ad, and it is rememberable yet not as much as others. It is very funny and it stars one of the best basketball players ever which is standing for this commercial to stay in a lot of peoples minds.

    2. Audience. The Target audience here seems to be an older crowd that could travel alone. Due to the images present in the ad, children probably are not old enough for such travel purposes. Therefore, Adults are the target audience. The message is appropriate in the sense to interact with other cultures and attain acceptance in exploration.

    1. The ad is a short skit for the new models Buick is releasing, or has already released. Many people can not believe that the new models are so visually appealing. Overall the commercial is appealing (even though I personally do not like Buick).
    2. The audience for this commercial is really for anyone looking for a car that is a legal driver. The message, even though it did not show the features of the car, caught the eye of the audience from the visual aspect. It was appropriate, but they could have focused more on the car, rather than Cam and Miranda.
    3. The piece is clearly about the car it self and how much they have face lifted their brand.
    4. The author of the piece is trying to get any legal driver to come out and buy a Buick.

    The author seems to be addressing the ad towards families, parents and children. The message was very appropriate for the target audience: young children who like spiderman and parents who like to make their kids happy.

    The piece was mainly about Campbell's place within a family's life and their home. Campbell makes kids just as much as much a spider man can.

    The author was trying to persuade the audience to buy more of campbell's' products. More specifically, more families so more campbell products can exist in homes.

    the ad has limited effectiveness because there wasn't really any development in emotional appeal. The ad relied moreso on basic visuals to imply the scene was emotional.

    1) This is a comical trailer for the movie Baywatch. It is very visually appealing as it has bright colors and scenes of the beach.
    2) The targeted audience range is from young adults to adults. It is trying to promote the movie.
    3) The piece is mainly showcases the comical nature of the movie and the "brand" being promoted in this case would be the movie itself - Baywatch.
    4) The purpose of the advertisement is to persuade and further excite the viewers before the movie is released in order to maximize ticket sales.
    5) The advertisement had a slight affect in persuading me to watch the movie when it comes out.
    6) Overall, I did like the ad because it accurately portrays what the movie will be about. I will probably not remember this particular advertisement.

    1: The commercial is about mean joe greene. As he is leaping away after a game a kid comes by and stills him how much he admires him. Joe greene seems to not believe the kid. The kid offers him some coke. The scene had a very real feeling as if this could actually happen.
    2. The audience includes everybody who enjoys cold beverages. The message trying to be sent to viewers is that coke can brighten your mood. It was appropriate.
    3. The piece was about a young kid offering to help Joe green after a football game after his apparent injury. When joe resist his help the kid offers him some coke. The brand is coco-cola.
    4. the author is trying to convince the audience that coke brightens your mood and gives you more energy.
    5.The ad did not make me want to purchase the item. i know that coke can have a serious effect on your health and does the opposite of what the author was trying to portray in the commercial.

    1. Form: This commercial is about NBA stars Michael Jordan and Larry Bird about the Big Mac. It was very visually appealing in its portrayal of the Big Mac.

    3. Topic or subject: The commercial is about McDonald's signature burger the Big Mac. It was portraying the how satisfying a Big Mac is.
    4. Purpose: The purpose is to make it look like the Big Mac is not that unhealthy to eat. If NBA athletes are consuming it, then it must be okay for everyone else to consume it.
    5. Effectiveness: The commerical was pretty effective because it made people think that they can eat the Big Mac just because their favorite athletes are eating it. They assumed that its not unhealthy because athletes are endorsing it.

This advertisement was really visually appealing because their were a lot of diverse individuals who each partook in something different that made them unique, and towards the end, everyone was happy and doing what they love.
    2. This ad was trying to reach an audience of athletes and sports lovers who are motivated by music. The message in this commercial was appropriate because it was very motivational and uplifting showing individuals that music is uniting.
    3. This commercial is primarily about Beats' different headphone and in ear types. The ad was showing how different successful athletes use this product during their pre workout, and ultimately succeed following.
    4. The purpose of this speech is to motivate young and prosperous athletes to follow their goals and to use beats to help them. This ad shows how music can truly help accomplish such endeavors.
    5. Yes. This ad did make me want to purchase the product because it made me feel inspired, as though if I set my mind to something, I can accomplish it.
    6. I personally really liked the ad, and i for sure will remember it because it gave me an inspiring feeling. In addition, the ad featured my ALL TIME favorite athlete, Simone Biles, which makes it my favorite as well.

    1. The commercial is about spending time with family and understanding the sacrifices those in our military make. It took place on an army base, and at the Superbowl and was visually appealing as it showed an emotional connection between families.
    2. The audience is families across the world and is directed to those who are not with their families and explains that it is important to spend time with them.
    3. The piece is about bringing a families together like the Hyundai brand and their car/product.
    4. The purpose of this piece is to connect the audiences with their families allowing them to associate their families with the Hyundai brand persuading them to understand that their product causes the same effect.
    5. The piece did make me connect to my family but since we're not in need of a car right now it did not persuade is to purchase it but instead showed us something we previously didn't know.
    6. Yes, I definitely will remember the ad because it explained the importance of our military and how important it is to cherish our family.
